About this event
This personal work is a continuation of Dohee's previous piece, DeepSea, which connected the tales of two ancient goddesses from Korean mythology, Mago and Baridegi, with her own story and history. Particularly, GaNADa will address more relationship between Mago (Myth, like dream) and the real life like destiny. Between the past (including Karma) and present life. GaNADa a is Korean word such as ABC letter. However, each letters are being selected certain meaning on this piece such as "Ga=go" "NA= myself" "Da=everything". So GaNADa means "finding own path through through the invisible strings of Goddess Mago." GaNADa is commissioned by Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center and produced by Asian Improv aRts with the support of the San Francisco Arts Commission Cultural Equity Grants Program.
