About this event
Starr Davis grew up in an artistic family near Chicago. She attended art classes at the Chicago Art Institute, taught high school art, and wrote two books--Tongues and Totems and Starr's Mussels. Travels to Alaska, Turkey and Bali influence and enrich her work.
Her art is about what she loves. Often it's singing color relationships, nature, water, the convex and concave shape of mussel shells with curving lines into the sea. Exploring techniques in many media, she works in ceramic sculpture, collage, watercolors, oils, and clay monoprints.
