About this event
The Oakland History Room is pleased to present another fine exhibit curated by the Emeryville Historical Society. LOST AMUSEMENT PARKS OF THE EAST BAY chronicles the good times and demise of three popular fun spots: Shell Mound Park in Emeryville, which was open from 1876 to 1924; Idora Park in Oakland (1904-29); and Neptune Beach in Alameda (1917-39). Historic photos, postcards, informative captions, newspaper clippings, and other items provide an entertaining and fascinating glimpse of public life long ago.
