About this event

Artists Rachel Mayeri and Laurel Braitman discuss human perceptions of animals, and animals' perceptions of themselves and other species. Mayeri will screen her multi-stage project, Primate Cinema, in which a video of humans emulating ape behavior is shown to a group of chimpanzees at the Edinburgh Zoo; Braitman will share aspects of her research on the history of mental illness in other animals (from dolphins to dogs), and what it means to be human-- the subject of her forthcoming book Animal Madness. Continue the discussion with us over dinner in the Mess Hall.
